Simple, clean, and effective. This is what I aim for in my designs. First and foremost, my design process begins with extremely thorough research. Finding good reference images as well as inspirational works from other designers always helps to create a cleaner and more thoughtful end result. I always like to look at a variety of up-and-coming designers I find on the web, but some more well known designers I often find myself coming back to for reference are Michael Bierut and Massimo Vignelli. I also find a lot of my inspiration in every day life. I often times collect images of logos I see at the store that spark an interest. After I have collected my inspiration I start to sketch anything and everything that comes to mind. I often find that what I end up has evolved tremendously through out the sketching process. I never limit myself to just a pen and paper while I sketch, but instead work with a variety of mediums to try to find the most creative solution. Innovation is what sets me apart from other designers.

 

The reason I am pursuing design is because I love to create. Ever since I was a kid I have been designing everything from Christmas ornaments to newsletters. I am not always the best at expressing myself with words, but I have always had a way of expressing myself through my creativity. As a designer I hope my creativity leaves a lasting impression on those who see it. My true passion thus far has been designing logos and developing brand identities. Creating an identity that is unique to one brand is incredible. I look forward to continue growing as a designer.
